Our core strength lies in providing a design concept to final delivery service for all customers, large and small, with emphasis on improving product lifespans.Ferrabyrne Ltd was formed in 1970 through the merger of Ferring Rubber & Plastics Ltd with Byrne Moulding & Engineering, both of which were established in the 1960’s. In the same year as the merger, the company moved to Lineside Industrial Estate in Littlehampton. Following continued growth, the company twice expanded its original premises but were then finally compelled to move in 1997. Our current location in Littlehampton allows us to retain all our in-house services and for further expansion. Being located on England’s South Coast provides us with access to major roads and ports, ensuring ease of distribution to any part of the world.
We are approved suppliers to various major companies such as Bombardier, Hitachi, Alstom, Siemens, CAF, Skoda Transportation in Czech Republic, Pullman Rail, Wabtec, Unipart Rail, MTRC in Hong Kong, Brecknell Willis & Co, Porterbrook, Angel, DB Schenker and London Undergound.
Ken qualified with KPMG and followed a career into Corporate Recovery. He took the decision to move into industry with a business which had been successfully recovered from insolvency and acquired by a PLC. He then moved through commercial and financial management roles, ending up as Managing Director.
Ken worked on the MBO of Ferrabyrne on a buy-in basis in 2004 and took on the role of Commercial Director, covering both the Sales and Finance departments of the Company. This has given direct involvement with all sales development activities as well as dealing with all funding requirements.
Ken took on the role of Managing Director in early 2012, increasing his span of responsibility to include all Operational and Technical departments and has actively been building a strong Senior Management Team for the business.
Having qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in industry, Scott has had varied roles in manufacturing businesses over the past 20 years, most recently as Finance Director of another PE backed business, in the Oil & Gas sector.
Scott has experience at Board level, M&A activity, investor relations, strategic growth planning and business diversification. He has successfully headed up the finance functions of businesses from £10m to £100m+.
Scott takes a very hands-on approach to job costing, profitability and shop floor efficiencies, whilst keeping a firm grip on the company balance sheet and cash flow.
After an HND and engineering apprenticeship, Mike took on a series of roles in IT, purchasing, customer account management and automotive design. Although his initial role upon joining Ferrabyrne in 2004 was in purchasing, his wide-ranging background and flexibility have enabled him to carry out broader roles and he has been promoted three times.
As Director of Projects, he is accountable for the majority of bid submissions and introduction of new projects through to production. Within this domain, he is responsible for organising and managing the Design Engineering department and control of the Toolroom facility.
Having over 20 years of procurement experience and 5 years of production experience in the electronics, medical and defence sectors Keith joined Ferrabyrne as Purchasing Manager. After a number of years Keith was promoted into a Production management role and for the last five years has taken responsibility for all Operations Management. He still retains an overview of the procurement department. Keith has also managed a number of significant investment/improvement projects during the last two years and is now leading the introduction of a Continuous Improvement philosophy across the workplace.
