Dellner Polymer Solutions have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Purchasing Manager with the responsibility of working strategically across our two UK Plants in Littlehampton and Burton-Upon Tent.

The role will be based in our newly acquired site of Dellner Ferrabyrne in Littlehampton and will require regular travel to our sister site, Dellner Polymer Solutions in Burton-Upon-Trent.

Within our Group is Dellner Glass Solutions, made up of 3 businesses across 3 UK locations. Collectively known as Dellner Polymer and Glass Solutions, the UK Group is part of a larger Swedish Organisation, Dellner Group which is an industry diverse global leader in the design and manufacture of braking systems for the material handling, crane & hoist, container handling, mining, marine, industrial, offshore, oil & gas, and wind energy sectors.

Dellner Polymer & Glass Solutions operates from 5 different sites across the UK providing technologically advanced vibration control, rubber fabrication and bonding solutions for a global market. Additionally, we design, engineer, manufacture, test and supply specialist glass and glazing products for the architectural, global rail, transport, security and museum showcase markets.

This is a newly created role and is an exciting time to be joining our recently expanding business. With a combined total of around £10m direct material procurement, the business requires a strategic thinking Purchasing Manager who can work across the two sites ensuring a strong and sustainable supply chain, ensuring appropriate operational control and to deliver financial gains through cost down activities.

Main Duties include;

•  Creating and delivering a purchasing strategy

•  Risk assessing, auditing and evaluating suppliers

•  Managing terms and conditions with suppliers

•  Analysing spend across both Plants and capitalising opportunities for economies of scale and cost-down projects

•  Aligning operational purchasing activities across the two sites and working with site-based Purchasers and Plant Manager/Operations Manager to ensure operational purchasing activities are fit for purpose and support the purchasing strategy

•  Ensure ERP systems are accurate

•  Supporting the Company to move to one ERP system (both Plants currently use Sage 200)

•  Managing utilities, rent and insurances

•  Regular travel between the two sites and regular visits to suppliers

•  Adhere to QHSE and other company policies and procedures

•  Support the needs of the business by undertaking any task as requested by management provided the task is within your capability and appropriate training is provided

Specific person criteria;

• CIPS level 5 or higher (essential)

• Previous manufacturing experience (essential) from Polymer industry or similar (highly desirable)

• Technical /engineering qualifications / background and/or the ability to read technical drawing (highly desirable)

• Previous experience of international purchasing at a strategic level (essential)

• Able to commute regularly between 2 sites and internationally (essential)

• Keen eye for detail and accuracy.

• PC literate across Microsoft Office product
